SOPHOS onboard processing and memory program
This project focuses on orbital processing hardware research program.
SOPHOS developed satellite payload processing, radiation-tolerant mass memory and SAR algorithms, tested together in a ground demonstrator. Unibap worked on the Payload Processing Module and DSI on the Mass Memory Module. The coordinator reports technologies derived from the program are already in orbit, but the October 2026 results do not name those missions or establish a deployed shared data-center service.
Figures retain their disclosed units and scope. Launched hardware does not establish demonstrated performance; targets may change. Not disclosed means no figure in the reviewed sources.

Joint development with DSI of a SAR-oriented setup combining DSI mass memory with Unibap iX10 under SOPHOS. The October 23, 2026 CORDIS results identify Unibap as the Payload Processing Module contributor in the ground demonstrator.
The official allocation establishes hardware research participation. It does not prove a deployed SAR system, commercial purchase or completed orbital demonstration. The original source publication is the disclosure date. No price or mission terms beyond the stated announcement are inferred. Original 2023 announcement date and agreement identity are preserved. Derived technologies are reported in orbit without named missions.

Partners continue technology development and mission adoption following the research program, which ended in February 2026.
Manual review 31 Oct 2026. Compared CORDIS results with the project, partner and EU grant records. Added processing/memory modules, Ethernet routing, SAR algorithms and ground-validation scope. Derived flight technologies remain unnamed, and no operating data-center capacity or numerical compute benchmark is established. Primary body last observed not available. Source monitoring: unavailable. Source collection and substantive profile review are separate checks. Plans and dates may change.
CORDIS records the project end date as 28 February 2026. The later EU results article reports a completed ground demonstrator and attributes unnamed orbital use to derived technologies without identifying flight configurations.
