Sweden · Shared onboard AI processing and alert-service demonstration
ALERT-IOD / ALERTSAT-IOD
This project focuses on shared onboard AI processing and alert-service demonstration.
ALERT-IOD develops multi-user Earth-observation processing and alert services, with AI pipelines intended to run on space-qualified hardware. PandionAI leads the programme with Ubotica, Vinterstellar and Mimir Space Technologies. Published targets include inference within five minutes and end-to-end alert delivery within fifteen minutes. No named operating spacecraft or completed in-orbit validation is established in the reviewed project sources.
PandionAI AB · Planned development and in-orbit demonstration
Scope: Shared computing & storage · Development of multi-user onboard processing and alert services for multiple applications and customers, independent of current flight status.
Figures retain their disclosed units and scope. Launched hardware does not establish demonstrated performance; targets may change. Not disclosed means no figure in the reviewed sources.

Announced 5 Dec 2025 · Evidence checked 3 Nov 2026
Ground integration, orbital demonstration and user validation. Vinnova lists November 2025–January 2027, while the programme page lists December 2025–February 2027.
Manual review with evidence gaps 3 Nov 2026. Issuer, programme, agency and partner accounts compared on November 3 UTC. Planned multi-user alert processing, targets, workshares and contribution recorded. Project dates differ across official sources, and no selected flight host or completed orbital result is established. Primary body last observed not available. Source monitoring: unavailable. Source collection and substantive profile review are separate checks. Plans and dates may change.
The Vinnova and programme records give different project periods. Both are retained with attribution.
Named flight host, selected processor/model/count, RAM, storage, numerical power/thermal boundaries, orbit and mission duration are not established.
Vinterstellar's page labels SWISSto12 as client, while its project body identifies PandionAI and the research partners. No procurement or host role for SWISSto12 is inferred from that isolated label.
SEK 5.2 million is the project value/total budget. The separately identified Vinnova contribution is SEK 2,291,079 and is counted once without adding the budget.
Project updates
Verified announcements and milestones linked to this project, newest first.
Vinnova project 2025-02990 lists a USD 234,727 (SEK 2,291,079) contribution for PandionAI, with an objective of reducing data volumes by up to 99.9 percent and delivering alerts in under fifteen minutes. Its November 2025–January 2027 period differs from the programme page's December 2025–February 2027 period. Both source descriptions are retained.
PandionAI announced ALERT-IOD on December 5, 2025, with Ubotica, Vinterstellar and Mimir Space Technologies. The project develops AI pipelines and integration for a planned orbital demonstration and multi-user alert services. Vinterstellar identifies scheduling and integration-testing work. The stated USD 532,754 (SEK 5.2 million) project value is treated as a total budget, rather than added grant receipts.
