This project focuses on computing aboard a satellite.
Orbital-1 is the first purpose-built spacecraft in Orbital's proposed computing constellation, targeted for 2028. Reflex leads bus design and system integration under a development agreement; September 2026 material describes peak power approaching 250 kW.
Orbital · In development
Scope: Shared computing & storage · A shared computing or storage platform, or a program developing that infrastructure. Classification describes intended use, not operating capacity.
Source says approaching 250 kW; approximately preserves that qualifier. It is not observed output or a replacement for the older fleet architecture's different power boundary.
Figures retain their disclosed units and scope. Launched hardware does not establish demonstrated performance; targets may change. Not disclosed means no figure in the reviewed sources.
Develop Orbital-1 toward the announced 2028 flight target; the separate hosted GPU demonstration is targeted for 2027.
Manual review 30 Oct 2026. Reflex confirms planned passive radiation cooling and large-array power architecture. Peak design power remains separate from IT load, solar generation and total operating demand. Older generic production hardware, mass and span remain held without mission mapping. Primary body last observed 23 Oct, 09:48 UTC. Source monitoring: ongoing. Source collection and substantive profile review are separate checks. Plans and dates may change.
Orbital announced a USD 5 million company pre-seed round supporting Pathfinder, initial Orbital-1 development and Factory-1 manufacturing. No separate allocation to Orbital-1 or investor-to-project contract is disclosed.
