MESEO distributed EO processing framework
This project focuses on orbital and ground software research program.
MESEO develops distributed Earth-observation processing across satellites, ground infrastructure and data providers. Its EO Coordination Centre orchestrates onboard AI processing and interoperable services, with methane monitoring and crop classification used for validation. The EU-funded program is due to end in November 2026 and does not establish a standalone orbital data center or an operating commercial compute service.
GMV Aerospace and Defence-led consortium · In development
Scope: Shared computing & storage · Open multi-mission research ecosystem serving registered providers and end-user requests through onboard and ground processing functions. Shared intended use, not an operating data center
Figures retain their disclosed units and scope. Launched hardware does not establish demonstrated performance; targets may change. Not disclosed means no figure in the reviewed sources.

Complete the funded research period by November 30, 2026 and pursue further validation and adoption.
Manual review 29 Oct 2026. Compared the CORDIS fact sheet and results, consortium directory and technical contributions. Verified the EU grant, added consortium links and orchestration architecture, and kept ground benchmarks separate from orbital capability Primary body last observed not available. Source monitoring: unavailable. Source collection and substantive profile review are separate checks. Plans and dates may change.
Specific flight hardware, satellite identities, launch commitments and on-orbit compute capacity are not established.
The results describe representative validation use cases, not independent proof of paid orbital service.
The consortium identifies SATLANTIS ECS and onboard-processing development with UbOTICA and Creotech contributions to WP6. Exact flight hardware allocation, procurement buyers and supplier contract values remain undisclosed.
