South Korea · Orbital data-center technology research program
K-Moonshot Space Data Center
This project focuses on orbital data-center technology research program.
KASA's K-Moonshot space data-center mission targets orbital validation of core technologies by 2030. Its research agenda covers power generation and control, radiation-tolerant AI computing and storage, thermal control and low-orbit communications. KASA proposes a validation satellite launched on Nuri. A funded constellation, awarded suppliers and operating service are not established. KASA subsequently consulted seventeen companies on August 10, 2026 about technology validation and industry supply-chain participation. No supplier selections or implementation funding were announced at that meeting.
Korea AeroSpace Administration (KASA) · Research planning and technology identification
Scope: Shared computing & storage · Dedicated space data-center infrastructure and its validation program, not processing confined to one sensing mission.
Figures retain their disclosed units and scope. Launched hardware does not establish demonstrated performance; targets may change. Not disclosed means no figure in the reviewed sources.

No supplier or partner relationship is recorded for this project. This does not establish that the work remains unawarded.
NEXT MILESTONE
Define the validation payloads, implementation plan and funding. Orbital technology validation is a 2030 goal, not a confirmed service launch.
Manual review 31 Oct 2026. Compared KASA's program release with the profile and industry-consultation record. Added structured power, AI/storage semiconductor, thermal and communications research scope. Numerical budgets and selected suppliers remain unspecified. Primary body last observed not available. Source monitoring: blocked. Source collection and substantive profile review are separate checks. Plans and dates may change.
At Rebellions, industry discussed radiation tolerance, power, cooling, spacecraft systems and validation support. Attendance does not establish supplier selection or procurement awards.
