This project focuses on orbital software research program.
JANUS develops modular satellite applications for the EU ISOS pilot mission. Planetek Italia coordinates the Horizon Europe research program, running from June 2026 to May 2029 with a EUR2,501,521.26 EU contribution. The work covers distributed edge computing, secure data exchange and autonomous orchestration. Hardware-in-the-loop ground validation and preparation of applications for future orbital demonstration are planned. The grant does not establish an operating orbital service or a launched JANUS spacecraft.
