Cognitive Cloud Computing in Space for Earth Observation (3CS4EO)
This project focuses on space-cloud architecture study.
ESA Phi-lab records 3CS4EO as a Telespazio feasibility study conducted from July 2025 through September 2026. The study developed a two-satellite Leader-Follower architecture for onboard Earth-observation processing, user-deployed PaaS applications, autonomous Tip-and-Cue operations, optical intersatellite connectivity and direct-to-user alerts. It is a completed architecture study, not a launched or operating constellation.
ESA / Telespazio · Feasibility study completed
Scope: Shared computing & storage · A completed study for a shared onboard PaaS and cooperative computing architecture serving authorized applications and multiple Earth-observation use cases.
Figures retain their disclosed units and scope. Launched hardware does not establish demonstrated performance; targets may change. Not disclosed means no figure in the reviewed sources.
ESA's EOCognitiveLab mission incorporates 3CS4EO work. No 3CS4EO flight deployment is announced.
Manual review 29 Oct 2026. ESA Phi-lab confirms the completed Telespazio study, two-satellite IOC architecture, onboard PaaS, optical links and study development packages. No flight deployment is established. Primary body last observed not available. Source monitoring: ongoing. Source collection and substantive profile review are separate checks. Plans and dates may change.
ESA Phi-lab records the completed July 2025 to September 2026 Telespazio 3CS4EO feasibility study. Its two-satellite Leader-Follower concept combines onboard high-performance computing, a user PaaS, AI processing, optical intersatellite connectivity, autonomous Tip-and-Cue operations and direct-to-user alerts. Named Unibap Hailo-8 and NVIDIA Jetson development packages are study outputs, not selected flight hardware.
