ARGOS onboard SAR AI

This project focuses on named orbital computing research.

ARGOS develops an end-to-end AI framework to turn raw satellite SAR data into application-specific inferences onboard spacecraft. The DLR-led Horizon Europe project plans model optimization and validation on representative space-qualified computing hardware. Its June 2026–May 2029 research program is not a launched computing platform or an operating data-center service.

NEXT MILESTONE

Publish framework benchmarks and representative-hardware validation during the research period ending May 31, 2029. No flight date is established.

Manual review 31 Oct 2026. Compared CORDIS objectives, grant dates and all nine consortium organizations. Recorded the funded research program and technical development architecture. Representative-hardware validation and benchmarking are planned. No installed flight configuration or orbital result is established. Primary body last observed not available. Source monitoring: partial. Source collection and substantive profile review are separate checks. Plans and dates may change.

WHAT REMAINS UNKNOWN
  • Selected processor or accelerator, counts, arithmetic format and throughput, memory/storage, numerical electrical and thermal budgets, and physical dimensions are not disclosed in the reviewed fact sheet.
  • No flight host, launch, orbit, mission design life or measured in-orbit result is established. Near-real-time describes the research objective without a numerical latency benchmark.
  • CORDIS identifies consortium members but not participant-specific hardware procurement or installed configurations. The EUR 2,000,223.71 EU contribution is one consortium grant, not separate rounds or the total project cost.
